Wasatch Girls Volleyball won a 5 set thriller at home against Region 8 rival Maple Mountain on October 3rd. A back and forth match, with each team winning convincingly one game, and then losing poorly the next. As a team, Wasatch had 30 kills, but added 21 service aces, double more than any match this season.
The Wasps were led by Junior Tori Dorius with 12 kills and a .308 hitting %, and also with 6 service aces, and 7 digs. Senior Brynli Buehler added 6 kills on only swings for a .667 hitting %, and also had 3 blocks. Setter Jen Lythgoe had 22 assists and 3 aces.
The win over Maple keeps Wasatch in 3rd place in Region 8 with a 3-2 record at the midway point. Next up is a home match with Timpanogos on Thursday, Oct. 5th.
