Girls Junior Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis finishes in 4th Place at State

The girls tennis team capped a great year by finishing in 4th place at the 5A State Tennis Championships this past week.

Led by Senior Emma Santiago who placed 2nd at # 2 singles the team had it’s best finish at state for over 40 years.

Alysha Damron; beat Alex Leishman, East, 6-0, 6-1, beat Rachel Brown, Timpview, 6-0, 6-2, lost in the semi-finals to Emma Jewel, Olympus, 6-2, 6-3

# 2 Singles

Emma Santiago; beat Krista Glauser, Box Elder, 6-1, 6-0, beat Emma Robb, Brighton, 6-2, 6-1, beat Etianne Johnson, Woodscross, 6-2, 6-1 in the semi-finals, lost in the finals to, Ellie Lloyd from Olympus.

# 3 Singles

Mallory Neuberger lost in the 1st round to Brinley Horton, Alta, 6-3, 7-6

# 1 Doubles

Cassie Henderson & Rebecca McGregor lost in the 1st round to Anzle Stohl & Megan Jewel from Olympus, 6-2, 6-1

# 2 Doubles

Melissa Blotter & Anna Snow beat Katelyn Glines & Megan Connors, Olympus, 6-2, 6-3 in the 1st round, lost to Abby Harris & Ava Stanger, Olympus 6-2,6-2.
