The Wasps competed in two contests last week. Wednesday 9/9 they travelled to Vernal for the Uintah Invite, and ran a fast course, just a hair shy of 3 miles. From the Girls race, the lady wasps placed their top 5 runners in the first 8 finishers in a field of 54 athletes; Abbie Randall(Sr)1st 18:37.3, Dani Krull(Sr) 2nd 19:22.5, Lillie Randall(So) 3rd 19:57.9, Tesha Krull(Fr) 4th 20:06.2, Abi Krull(So) 8th 21:04.8. From the Boys race, the top 5 runners placed in the top 9 in a field of 94 athletes; Andrew Sullivan(Sr) 1st 16:05.3, Jake Giles(Jr) 2nd 16:10.4, Carson Guymon(Jr) 3rd 17:09.9, Zack Goode(Jr) 4th 17:25.1, Ethan Huntsman(Sr) 9th 17:35.6. Friday and Saturday Wasatch hosted nearly 4,000 coaches, athletes, and volunteers in a 4 session Invite. Teams from around the state were eager to attend as Soldier Hollow will be the venue for the State XC meet this fall. The best finish for the grueling 2.9 mile course was Girls: Caila Odekirk(Jr) of Hurricane with a time of 18:10; Boys: Creed Thompson(Sr) from Skyridge with a time of 15:10.2. Wasatch top finishers were Abbie Randall(Sr) with a time of 19:58.9 placing 5th of 120 runners in her race, and Andrew Sullivan(Sr) with a time of 16:36.6 placing 17th of 139 runners in his race.

The Wasatch XC team would also like to announce (pending Health Department Approval) that on October 1st, a Thursday, they will hold a Jr. High and elementary race open to Wasatch School District students. Those interested in participating should go to their schools front office to get an informational flyer.
