With 30 years of teaching and coaching experience Trisha Cheal has a love for what she does. She has a Bachelors of Science from the University of Utah in Exercise and Sport Science with a dance emphasis. She has always been happiest when teaching and sharing her passion. Dancing and performing have been a major part of her life for over 47 years. She has taught at Wasatch Dance Center for the past 18 years. She is currently the director of the PACK Performing Team. She has cheered for 5 years with a captain leadership role for 2 of those years. Trisha has attended USA, UCA and EPIC cheer camps as a participant and as a coach for a total of 10 years. In 2013 she was hired as the Head Cheer Coach at Wasatch High School. With a one year break in 2016-2017. Under her direction, the Wasatch Cheerleading Team has earned 5 Region Champion titles and 5 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP titles with a STATE SWEEP in 2016 in all three routines. They have also earned SPIRIT CHAMPIONS, CAMP CHAMPIONS and OVERALL PERFORMANCE CHAMPIONS in their attendance at cheer camps. “I am happiest when I see my team succeed and all the hard work pays off. Karri Oldham has been part of Wasatch High School’s cheer staff since 2013. She also works in the counseling office and loves the interaction she gets to have with the awesome students at Wasatch High School. Her cheerleading credentials individually include: Junior High, High School and College. She was a member of the nationally ranked Wasatch Waspettes her senior year. Her favorite part of coaching is being part of the girls lives and seeing their growth as a team over the season and working together to achieve incredible results year after year…. And, of course, having fun along the way. Karri’s most proud of her three amazing children, who all excelled in sports at Wasatch High, and 7 grandchildren whom she adores more than anything. She enjoys traveling with her husband, golfing, boating, working out and loves working in her yard. Karri is honored and excited to be part of another successful year.
Andrea Fritzsche- Assistant Coach
Andrea believes that hard work and dedication can lead to great success in life. Andrea has danced and tumbled all her life and cheered her entire High School career. Andrea has coached high school cheer for three years and tumbling for two years. The one year her team competed, they took first at state in pom routine.
Chellcee Jones – Assistant Coach
Chellcee Jones has a passion for all things dance, cheer, and music. Growing up here in Heber Valley, she attended The Academy of Dance as well as Wasatch Dance Center. She is studio-trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contempary, and Modern dance. She enjoys playing the piano, guitar, and flute. While attending Wasatch High School she cheered for 3 years, danced on dance company for 4 years, and was Senior Drill Mistress her senior year of high school. After graduating high school, she danced for 2 years collegiately at Southern Utah University as a member of the SUU Spirit Squad. She graduated from SUU with a B.S. in FLHD with an emphasis in Family Services. During her time at SUU she studied Dance Education for 2 years. Since graduating she previously coached cheer at Wasatch High School, taught preschool at WDC Preschool and currently teaches dance at The Refinery Academy of Dance. Chellcee lives in Heber with her husband, Garrett and son, Liam. In her free time she enjoys going to movies and playing with her son!
Alison Russell has a great love of dance, cheer and fitness conditioning in all forms. She has trained at Academy of Ballet West (Salt Lake City, UT), Ballet Studio by the Sea (Malibu, CA), Janet Gray Studios (Salt Lake City, UT) and the University of Utah Ballet Department (Salt Lake City, UT). She has performed with Ballet West, Malibu Concert Dance Company, Oakland Ballet and the University of Utah’s Ballet and Modern Dance departments. Alison graduated from West High School (Salt Lake City, UT) and as a member of the Co-ed Cheer Team has traveled both nationally and internationally As a former instructor for Universal Dance Association (UDA), she has taught at summer dance camps in the Western United States for high school dance and drill teams. For the past 7 years she has taught ballet, jazz and barre conditioning at Wasatch Dance Center in Heber. Alison holds a B.S. in Recreational Therapy from the University of Utah and utilizes that education with her dance training as the director of the Adaptive Dance program, a free weekly dance class offered to students with special needs in Wasatch and Summit counties. Alison lives in Midway with her husband, Ben and three daughters. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, photography, playing tennis, sewing and cooking.
