The Wasatch Lady Wasps showed a lot of heart Friday night against Maple Mountain. The team has suffered many injuries this season with different players out for a game or two and captain Kymbee Baird suffered a season ending injury that would leave many teams down and out. But not the Wasps, they used the hardship to fuel their drive for success. After being down 4 going into halftime, they out scored Maple Mountain 25 to 12 in the 3rd quarter.
Great defensive play led by Faith Fitzgerald with 8 steals and 17 points and Kenzie McBride added another 14 points gave Wasatch the victory.
The win secures a spot in the 5A playoffs for Wasatch. They have 2 region games left: Friday, Feb.9 vs Skyridge and Tuesday, February 13 vs Springville, both games are at 5:15.
