Wasatch dominated Roy from the beginning of the game to the end and won 4-0. It was a great game by the Wasps holding Roy to a few shots and having many in return. Wasatch scored its first goal on a corner. Carlos Vargas put it in the net to give Wasatch the lead. Then ten minutes later Wasatch earned another corner and Ryan Hanley put it in the back of the net to give Wasatch a 2 goal lead. In soccer 2-0 can be the worst lead to be in as the team that is up might sit back and let the other team gain momentum. Wasatch did not let this happen, they continued to press Roy by shot after shot. Roy’s goalie made some great saves to keep the score 2-0.
A lightening delay hit around the 25th minute and Roy was able to regroup. They came out with a new strategy and gained a little momentum back.
After halftime Wasatch took control again and scored another goal. Carlos Vargas added one more goal by beating the goalie to the near post. Harper Brown hit the ball off of his back heal and it beat the keeper and goalie stopping right before the line and Wesley Carse followed the ball and put it in the back of the net. Wasatch dominated the game in both shots and possession.
Wasatch has a semi final date at Juan Diego against Olympus. The game is Tuesday and will be at 6:30. We hope to see you there.
