Chris Stover named as Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach

  Chris Stover has been hired as the Head Boys and Girls Golf Coach at Wasatch High School. His background in golf reaches back to his high school days at Springville High where he played golf as both a Junior and Senior earning Most Improved and Most Valuable honors respectively in those years. Summer Golf Practices

Coach Stover will be holding a non-mandatory practice throughout the summer on Wednesday’s at Wasatch Mountain State Park Golf Course for current or interested high school golfers.  The only exception to this will be the first week in July because of a moratorium on practice. Girls will be at 9:00am  Boys will be at 10:30am.

Boys Golf at State

The boy’s golf team competed in the 5A State Championships at Talons Cove Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday October 2nd & 3rd.  The full team missed qualifying for the 2nd day of competition by 1 stroke but our top three golfers qualified for the 2nd day of competition.  When everything was concluded Kellen Olsen

Golf Finishes Strong with 2nd place Finish at Hobble Creek

Led by Junior Kellen Olsen’s 75 the Wasatch Men’s Golf team placed 2nd in the final Region Match at Hobblecreek Golf Course.  The team placed 3rd overall.  Jack Holmes was 2nd and Kellen Olsen was 4th in the individual Medalist competition.

Golf Struggles to 4th Place Finish

We had another difficult tournament yesterday, the wind at Spanish blew harder and longer than usual.  We had our first fourth place finish but the good news is we are still in third place going into our last region tournament. The next team dinner will Tuesday September 19th at Gavin Scott’s house right after practice.

Golf Practices

Tonight, Wednesday Sept. 13th NO Practice Tomorrow, Thursday Sept. 14th.  Meet at Wasatch Golf course at 3 pm.  All team members must be there and you’ll pick the range first and then play 9 holes around 4 pm.

Golfers place 3rd at Thanksgiving Point

Wasatch placed a respectable 3rd place at Thanksgiving Point yesterday.  Kellen Olsen shot a 78 to lead the Wasps.  Next event will Monday September 18th at Spanish Oaks. Wasatch remains a solid 3rd place in Region VIII play.
